Celebrations as 118.000 immigrants join the expanded Arcology project!

Under the thundering rythm of drums, tens of thousands of Minmatar disembark to join the Aurora Arcology!
A welcoming celebration was held to herald these new arrivals, but also to celebrate that the Aurora Arcology now houses over half a million people! With special thanks to capsuleer  Caroline Grace who took care of transporting these refugees to give them a new chance in life.

As some might remember, recent negotiations with Caldari Provisions made a temporary end to our impending overcrowding. These new arrivals will be housed in one of the three new districts that have been opened.

To go back on the arrivals, Caroline Grace did not only transport these refugees, but also enough supplies to create one big holiday party! Thousands of bottles of Spiced wine, millions of Quafe cans,  tens of thousands of livestock! Enough to support everyone at the Arcology to celebrate the holidays!
Thanks to Caroline Grace, these refugees will have a holiday season they'll never forget. Combined with the inauguration of the 3 new districts, it'll be a holiday celebration to remember aboard the Aurora Arcology.

Over the course of this year, many other capsuleers have supported us as well. Dozens of capsuleers have helped to embetter the lives of refugees anywhere by giving them a new chance at the Aurora Arcology project. The overwhelming support I received at times is a testimony that many capsuleers do care about the well-being of others. From rescuing hapless civilians, to providing highly skilled personnel for the Arcology, all contributions have their worth.

On behalf of all citizens of the Aurora Arcology, I want to thank all those who supported me over all these years. I couldn't have done it without you!

Now onward to this week's immigration report. A large variety of civilians has joined us this week, in large numbers! The main group heralds from Minmatar space, but we've got folks from a variety of other backgrounds joining us as well!

With these immigrants, we now exceeded our old capacity limits, but thanks to Caldari Provisions, we now rent 3 additional station sections. The current immigrants will use one of these new sections. Due to the diversity in professions we don't foresee any large troubles.

Over 500.000 civilians now, all being helped & guided by the Aurora Arcology project. It's hard to imagine that barely a year ago, we just had over a 100.000 people accumulated over years of assistance. But it's this coregroup of veterans that now assist in guiding the good workings of the Arcology project, helping the new immigrants finding their place in Aurora.

The Luminaire Holiday Festival was a great success!

The preparations before the event kickoff

Over the course of the day, more and more people gathered at the Luminaire Navy stations for the Snow & Lightshow festival at 22H. As time progressed, the enthusiastic chatter increased, happy and cheery people talking in anticipation of what spectacular shows they'd see! A mere hour before the event, several partyboats arrived and gave away a nice opening lightshow, as a teasing of what was yet to come! More people undocked, and by using the specially modified festival launchers they were able to fire away fireworks & snowballs to kick off the event! Some people wanted to participate, but lacked snowballs to do so but capsuleer Zanza Mechonis came to their rescue by sharing his formidable stock with those who needed it, ensuring everyone could be part of this snowball fight!

22H, the event has begun!

By the time the official event started, people were already enjoying themselves by shooting fireworks and pelting each other with snowballs.
But for a moment, a stunned silence came over the crowd when two iconic ships warped in the middle of the crowd! As people recognized them as Concord SWAT battleships, cheering broke out, and to herald their arrival, people focused their fireworks & snowballs on them, delivering an explosion of light & snow!

Image showing one of the Concord SWAT Battleships being heralded by fireworks!

These Concord ships were piloted by two Commanders from the Crowd Control Police department, namely CCP Falcon and CCP Logibro. Officially they were present to maintain law & order among the capsuleergathering. But as the festival continued, and people kept dragging them into their lightshows and snowball fights, it's safe to say they enjoyed it as much as we did, especially as nobody tried to crash the party.
While the festival continued, Commander A9, the organizer of the event, announced there would be 3 major lightshow competitions, so everyone has a chance to win prizes! There would also be a Secret Santa Gift Giveaway, in the spirit of the holiday season. The Santa figure is an obscure reference to an old holiday event that was all about sharing and promoting good will among people.
Meanwhile DJ Tranze of New EvE Radio provided the music to enhance the mood and keep spirits at an all time high & jolly! DJ Tranze also held a great & successful lottery across the holiday event!
As the event had kicked off, the final schedule of this night was provided, so everyone knew when what would happen, and how long the holiday festival would last. All the lightshows would be held at the second asteroid belt of Gallente Prime for easier judgement of the competitors. The schedule provided:

Event Schedule
2200: Event Starts at Luminaire VII Federation Navy Assembly Plant
2230: First Lightshow
2300: Secret Santa Gift Exchanges
2340: Second Lightshow
0020: Third Lightshow
All Evening: DJ Tranze Lottery Drawing

Just before the lightshows started, Caroline Grace arrived with her Providence freighter, giving people a great focal & navigation point in space to cluster around! As if the Concord ships weren't enough! During the whole event, people playfully pelted snowballs at her freighter, turning it almost entirely white at the end due to the massive amount of snowballs being flung!

Footage of Caroline Grace's Providence and the Concord ships being pelted by large amount of snowballs!

A Videofeed provided by Capsuleer Thufir Bezluden: Luminaire Snowballs & Fireworks!

The Lightshows!

These were the core of the events, renowned lightshow and firework artists from all over the cluster would gather, displaying their skill in creating marvellous displays of awe and amazement! The best among them would be granted prizes. As there would be 3 Lightshow competitions, it was made sure no skilled artist would be left out in this event!

The first lightshow event was a great display of lasers and drones in wondrous patterns of light! A nice free show for the miners present as well who were completely surprised by the show held in their area.
The people cheered and applauded for the neat shows and enjoyed them greatly. The first show also included alot of hilarity, as CCP Falcon managed to get his Concord SWAT Battleship stuck between the rocks. With pushing and pulling from people present, he managed to free himself out the dastardly asteroidfield.

The second lightshow saw alot of long range displays, lighting up entire rockfields with a single lasersweep, fireworkdisplay or dronegroup-passage. While the show was less intense lightwise, it was more than made up by the sheer scale provided by the competitors!
A small dent in the holiday cheer happened here tho as a scrooge capsuleer tried to grinch the event by attacking yours truly! However in the spirit of the holiday season I refused to retaliate, nor releasing the killright on him. Also no further indicents occured, and Concord felt no need to intervene after this, allowing CCP LogiBro & CCP Falcon to enjoy the event fully.

The third lightshow was much more small scale then previous, but also much more orderly, allowing people to have a clear view on these small but intense displays of skillful drone & lightshows. Drones performing beautiful dancing patterns of light, guided by lasers bouncing off them, or fireworks exploding all around them. People applauded as they saw the drones dance in space on the lights and the music.
Now comes the list of winners!

First lightshow winners: (1) Khaprice  (2) Thadrian  (3) Jandice Ymladris  (4) Nvyn

Second lightshow winners: (1) Ordule  (2)Nohugh Arnott  (3) Robyn Aurilen  (4)Alstevar Eastern  However, one of the winners  decided to gift away his price in the spirit of the Holidays to Yuuki Nakamura as she assisted greatly in making his show a succes!

Third lightshow winners: (1) Jandice Ymladris  (2) phx1340 (3) Saavik Ambraelle (4) Ordule

All in all, the lightshow event was a formidable succes and greatly enjoyed by all attendants. The prizes handed out were impressive, they included a Stratios, a  Pilot License Extension, Luxury nights with Exotic dancers and tons & tons of snowballs!

Holiday Cheer across the evening!

The times between the lightshows and the rest of the evening were greatly enjoyed as well. people chasing each other to throw snowballs at each other. Capsuleers like Che Biko and Zero Vigilant sneaked up on unsuspecting others, launching volleys of snowballs and fireworks, then speed away laughing of joy as their target is left behind, covered in snow & firework lights!
Capsuleer wh0dunnitthethird kept providing snowballs for the event through Commander A9 who handed them out to all who wanted more!
CCP Falcon & CCP Logibro also informed capsuleers they could buy additional fireworks and snowballs from the store! This generous act of Concord was met with much cheering and jollyness.
The Secret Santa Gifts were also enjoyed, and the happy people linked their gifts for others to see. This also showed the generosity of capsuleers, as shown by the gifts linked: Astero, fully fitted Vexor,  high quality faction modules like Gistii drives and such, but also a Full holiday supply worth of snowballs!

Some additional footage before we come to the inevitable conclusion:

The Aurora Arcology Rokh Partyship in all its glory!

A group picture of several attendees, the large Providence piloted by Caroline Grace and the two Concord ships piloted by CCP Falcon & CCP Logibro do catch the attention here!

The Conclusion of this Holiday Snowball Festival

All in all, it was a great success, enhanced by the arrival of two beloved Concord officials. All those who participated can leave their comments at Commander A9's informationfeed about the event here: Luminaire Snowball Fight!
The happyness and jolly people expressed was a welcome change of the otherwise grim and darkness the cluster usually offers. The event also showed a great deal of charity, people donating snowballs to others, so everyone could participate and also actively helping by donating prizes and being part of the Secret santa giveaway! The amazing lightshows both in and out the competitions made for marvellous displays and meant there was always something new to see!
Also a big thanks to DJ Tranze of New EvE Radio for the lottery, giving out 13 billion worth in prizes and of course for providing the music!
Let us not forget to congratulate Commander A9 for organizing this event, as he made this all possible! But all the people who supported this event allowed him to make it even more of a succes!

A big thanks to all who attended, you made this a success!

Preparing for the Luminaire celebrations and other happy news!

Quite some happy news to report today! This report will be split in 3 parts. First will be about the Luminaire Snowball festivities on sunday 22 december at 22h! The second one will be a report on a capsuleer of good will who rescued many civilians. Third report will be about the expansion of the Aurora Arcology and the planned celebrations for it.

The Luminaire Snowball festivities!

Commander A9 is organizing a celebration in Luminaire at 22 december at 22H, as detailed in this invitation. All capsuleers, regardless of alignment are invited to attend and participate.
As we all know, the upcoming days are about celebrating all that's good and great in this world, so it's fitting the event is held in Luminaire, where the homeworlds Caldari Prime and Gallente Prime lie. It's in this spirit I will attend the event, to celebrate the peace signed over Caldari Prime earlier this year, showing that men of good will and good intentions still exist in power.

What better way to celebrate the holidays then in this system, where two different factions reside in peace. Let us honor this and bring our ships, fitted for peace & celebration. Fit your specially modified festival-launchers, online your lightshow lasers and bring out the partydrones and turn this event into a blast!

Capsuleer rescues over 400 people from pirate-hideouts!

During assignments in Khanid space, the capsuleer Jimbo Atruin has located several pirate hideouts. As he cleared these hideouts, he found many captives and hostages that he in turn freed from the pirates. Showing his good nature, Jimbo took these folks in after their distressing experienced and helped them recover.
In this period, he managed to rescue over 400 people and their pets.
Recently, he contacted the Aurora Arcology and asked information about the refugee project. After he was assured that the Arcology gave refugees a warm new home to live at and a new start in their lives, Jimbo transferred the Refugees to our care. I'm thankful for his trust in us, but also grateful for his efforts in rescuing these people and helping them recover. Thanks to him, several hundred more people will have a reason to celebrate the upcoming holidays!

Aurora Arcology signs expansion-agreement with Caldari provisions!

As some of you know, the Aurora Arcology section aboard the Caldari Provision food packaging plant in Irjunen was getting crowded. Currently we're at 75% capacity! After a few months of negotiatons, an agreement to expand the Aurora Arcology section aboard the Station has been signed. These additional  & currently unused sections will be for our use within days! This will triple the amount of space, guaranteeing our continued presence in Irjunen.
Due to this happy news shortly before the holiday celebrations, it's been agreed to integrate the opening ceremony of the newly added sections with the upcoming holiday celebrations aboard the station, giving it an extra boost of joy!
So the future looks bright and great for the Aurora Arcology, we'll be able to receive many more refugees the upcoming year without worrying about livingspace for them.

The fedo, a strange animal

Recently, the Fedos popularity as pet amongst capsuleers has exploded. But what is a fedo? And where does it come from? What can it do?

Where do Fedos come from?

Fedos were initially discovered by the Amarr as they settled Palpis IV a few centuries ago. As the Amarr colonists settled the world, they found this strange, smelly but tame creature in the caves. Quickly it was discovered they make excellent biological garbage-disposals.
Later on, some Amarr ships started using them to keep their ships clean of waste, mainly in the slave-compartiments, due to the smell they produced.
When the Minmatar rebelled and formed their own faction, they took with them the amarr habit of using fedos aboard ship to keep them clean.
To this day, it are mainly the Amarr & Minmatar who use the fedo as ship-cleaner. Do keep in mind, this habit of using fedos as shipcleaners is a minority among shipcaptains. This can mainly be attributed to the smell they produce and the risk of becoming a pest.

What are Fedos? And what can they do?

Fedos are omnivorous creatures, they can devour almost anything! This makes them great for low-maintenance cleaning. their small size, about half a meter allows them to reach & 'clean' places most janitors or automated cleaners have a hard time reaching.
The downside of this however is the fact they produce a terrible odor. This is further enhanced by their primitive digesting system, that is based on fermenting. This means food remains a very long time in their body, with the result you expect, very smelly gaseous excretions.
Their fumes do have one peculiar side-effect, it tends to remove bacteria aboard a ship, making them a cheap biological sterilizer unit. Do note, it's advised to only use males. Female fedos produce fumes that can irritate the skin to outright poisonous for the average human.

It is interesting to note that the fedo has no eyes or ears, they are deaf & blind. Their main way of communication is through smell, which is part of the reason that they produce such range of smelly odors. The fedo feeds itself by climbing on top of it's food and lowering itself on it, as their mouth is located at what we would refer to as the belly.
They are able to move by small clawed tentacles at the side of their bodies. Females have more of these limbs then the males. The females also tend to be larger and more richly colored (generally fedo's have a reddish color)

They are also very resilient and fast breeding creatures. They're able to withstand several hours of vacuum, making them hard to get rid of once they breed uncontrolled. And this is easy to achieve, as a typical fedo reaches breeding-age 24 hours after birth. This means that you have to keep males & females separate at all times, lest you are faced with a very smelly pest-infestation that's hard to get rid of.
Their resilience, coupled with the easy breeding means that they're sometimes used in Fedo-fighting clubs, where female fedos are pitched against each other to the death. This usage is mainly seen among the Gallente, but in recent times it spread to the other factions as well.

Until recently, fedos were mainly used aboard some Amarr & Minmatar ships as a cheap alternative to cleaners & sterilizers as they eat anything, and their fumes keep the environment bacteria-free.
However, as noticed, they gained popularity as pets. This is due to a breakthrough in Fedo food-research. With a special diet-food you are able to reduce the smell of their fumes greatly, allowing them to be much more pleasant houseguests.
This is also the reason the Aurora Arcology added them to the list of allowable pets, as long as the Fedo-keeper does his best to minimize the odor.

Fedos & the Aurora Arcology

As mentioned earlier, the Aurora Arcology recently allowed fedos as pets. To keep up with their succes as pets, the Aurora Arcology actively seeks out people (mainly capsuleers) who want to get rid of their fedos. With every fedo collected, another civilian is made happy! And the capsuleer got rid of the smelly pest.
If you have unwanted fedos aboard, you can donate them now to the Arcology, knowing that the fedos will be well looked after.

Over 14.000 refugees join the Aurora Arcology!

With the joining of this group of refugees, the Arcology population has now exceeded 400.000 citizens! And with your assistance we'll keep expanding the project, helping more people daily to start a new life in safety!

On another page, The Aurora Arcology Council has expanded the list of allowable pets after long consideration. From now on Fedo's can be kept as pets as well, under strict regulations and after acquiring a FPH (Fedo Pet Holder) License. This is to assure Fedo's will be treated well, and actions are taken to reduce their smelly odor as much as possible.
Time will tell if Fedo's will become the new hit as pets, or that their intensive caretaking will ultimately put off most people to have them as pets themselves. The license-holders will be monitored by the Animal Experts to assure they follow the directives on holding fedo's for housekeeping.

Now that we covered the recent addition of Fedo's on the allowed Pets list, we'll now go to the main part of this report: the New Immigrant List:

The dark humor of capsuleers

As many of you surely know, the Aurora Arcology accepts almost all refugees & rescuees capsuleers find.
Undoubtedly you are also aware capsuleers  (and Dust mercs) can represent both the best & worst humanity has to offer in immortality.

A recent occasion reminded me of this.... A few days ago, a courier delivered a package to one of our collection points. With it came a mail with a curious message. It said *Hey Jandice, I managed to retrieve Kruul for your project! However there might be some extra work on him.*
Hm, Kruul, a known kidnapper (Damsels!) and pirate leader, joining the Aurora Arcology? And what's with *he needs some extra work*? We don't force people to join... if they don't want to, they go their own way...

On opening the package it all became clear.... It just contained a few remains of what was supposed to be Kruul... Some extra work indeed! If we wanted him presentable we'd need to reclone him from the few remains we got!
DNA analysis did confirm this were Kruul's remains. After this, a proper burial service fitting for a slaving & kidnapping pirate was given to his remains, we spaced them through the garbage-chute.

Never thought I'd say this, but after this incident it was obviously needed: The Aurora Arcology Project only accepts refugees & rescuees that are still alive. Dead bodies, gibbed remains, DNA goo or otherwise non-living organic human matter is not accepted as refugee/rescuee in the Aurora Arcology!

Workings of the Aurora Arcology: Irjunen System

Prologue

As some know, the Aurora Arcology is located in the Irjunen system, aboard the Caldari Provisions Food packaging station. This location wasn't selected at random, but due to past events. These events both incorporate the system's history and the Caldari Provision's recent past. This article will highlight both, and explain why this place was chosen.

Irjunen History

Several years ago, this system appealed to a large crowd of dutyful capsuleers working for the State. The reasons for this were twofold.
One was the relatively low security of the system and surrounding systems, leading to higher danger pay. It's important to note that Irjunen and all nearby systems still fell under Concord security , so despite the lower security, Concord still retaliated against acts of aggression.
The second reason were the expert CPF agents located here, they gave capsuleers high quality missions that were above average in payouts, causing an influx of capsuleers to the system. This gave the system a reputation as missionhub.
The reasons mentioned above made Irjunen a popular hub to work for the State. Subsequently, it had a booming economy, thanks to wealthy capsuleers spending their isk in the local stations.

Two years ago, this all changed. Agents got reorganized and their quality expertise had now be shared among all. This new rule hit the Irjunen system hard as it was outside the usual traderoutes. This caused many of the Capsuleers to flock to new missionhubs closer to a major tradehub.
Due to this, the economy crashed, and people emigrated, causing the local stations to cut down on production and seal off entire sections as they simply no longer needed that much space...

For the Aurora Arcology, this meant we could rent large sections of stations at a premium rent!

Caldari Provisions

Now, why did we pick the Caldari Provision station? Mainly due to their stance on employees and their corporate philosophy.
They are supporters of the Ishukone vision on Corporate dealings and believe that employees have to be treated fairly to retain their loyalty. Also, as seen during their actions shortly after the Caldari Prime battle, they believe in putting the Caldari people before their own corporation, should the need arise, as they assisted in the relief efforts for Caldari prime.

Due to this, we felt that setting up a refugee program aboard one of their stations would benefit us both. We gain their support in setting up a refugee project (culminating in the Aurora Arcology) aboard one of their stations. In return they gain access to a new workforce and customers. Caldari Provisions also gains a positive image through us as a Corporation that gives employees a second chance if they work for it.

Conclusion

The combination of renting large sections of a spacestation cheaply and Caldari Provisions' support for relief programs made the Irjunen Station of Caldari Provisions an excellent choice to start up here. Currently, our expansion of the Aurora Arcology population is growing to the limits of our rented space, but Caldari Provisions already informed us we can rent a second, and perhaps a third section of the station at a premium rate, after necessary dealings have been made.

Future development of Ayem Colony

Some of you might wonder what happened to our colony plans in Providence. Rest assured that the Ayem colony project is still on the table! Things have been going slow on this front due to various setbacks involving transport & bureaucracy.
However, our colonial department has used this extended period well by developing a future roadmap for the Ayem colony. To be noted, this roadmap must first pass approval by the Board of Directors from Fourth District Infrastructures Ltd as they hold the colonial rights.

To improve the economic stability of a large colony, the surrounding systems must be developed as well, allowing for trading larger volumes of goods & services. To that extend the 4TH district has put out a call for Industrialists and Planetary Managers to come to the 4TH District region in Providence to strengthen the new Caldari State sector:

Without further delay, we will now reveal what is roughly planned to develop the Ayem colony:

Outlaid plans & ideas for the expansion of Ayem colony. Timeline: early Y116 till end of the year

The initial project is to establish a Planetary Administration Center (PAC) at the fringes of the colony. This will house around 3000 employees, who will be brought in from the Arcology. Materials & machines to build will be imported locally. The employees might need an escort for a safe arrival, but this will be discussed & arranged with 4TH District.

Once the PAC is constructed, it's primary function will be to manage planetary affairs more efficiently. It will aim at increasing local foodproduction & expanding the local industry.
Also the facility will look into ways to promote planet Ayem for Capsuleer PI to increase revenue. Ways of achieving this could be advertisements. This must be discussed &  approved by 4TH first if it happens. Also a temporary Tax reduction from the POCO could bring in extra investors. Will require a meeting with the POCO operators to discuss possibilities on Tax-changes.

Once this is in place (and probably some other stuff) focus will redirect in providing materials & machines to expand the colony itself, to house alot more colonists. All required goods will be imported locally, with support. Thoughts will be given on what extra can be done besides expanding the population. One of the planned additions by then is a fully developed hospital, to accomodate the increasing demands for more complex medical procedures done locally.

Around this time, first steps will be set for a garrison (provided if approved by the board) to combat any crime, the mountains do provide good cover for insurgents, so a strong milita force is required. This militia force will be able to guarantee safety to the growing population of colonists.
Current aim is to deliver approximately 100.000 new colonists by the end of Y116. This will provide a solid basis for a self-sufficient and genetically healthy colony.

Future plans at this time will involve increasing colony population to be able to train shipcrews locally and perhaps establish an additional colony. It will also incorporate the expansion of the Garrison to provide a source for off-world groundforce support in case it might be needed.

This concludes the current plans drawn out to develop Ayem Colony, do note that these plans have not yet been approved, so changes can happen once the Ayem project is greenlighted.

Overview of the Foundation Celebration, the Colony in the wormhole system Origin

The celebration happened at the colony grounds and was a great learning experience, as I usually only decant in cities or stations, not the wild nature regions beyond. The Music stage was an enriching cultural experience as the music was both powerful and calming, very fitting of it's overwhelming location. The crowd that had gathered there was a symbol of it's succes. The forest, with it's colossal trees and beautiful stream was a pleasure to walk through and enjoy it's presence.

The event also gave me the chance to meet many people in person that I speak to often through the various commchannels. Ston Momaki was a delight to chatter with, exchanging information how we handled the training & integration of Hounds, and treatment of Slavers. This has lead to me looking into changing or expanding some of our integration programs as Mr Momaki shared some good idea's.
Meeting Dust Merc, Denak Kalamari was wonderful as well. His knowledge about planetside life was impressive and made me feel more comfortable about being in an old imposing forest. This also reflected in the talks we had.

All in all, it was a great event, in which I met several interesting folks and had enriching talks about various subjects, from music to management and various subjects inbetween. May the colony Foundation face a beautiful and grand future beyond the frontiers of known space!

Some info on the attendants:
-Ston Momaki is head of the Disciples of Ston, an organisation dedicated to saving people abandoned in space
-Denak Kalamari is a Dust Merc working for the Intaki Liberation Front but also runs an Infofeed called *Thoughts of a Clone Soldier* which is very popular among Dust Mercenaries. Alot of the infofeeds would also give Capsuleers a good thought!

Scientists & graduates needed to enhance Vaccine Production.

One of the main sources of income for the Aurora Arcology is the production and trading of medicines and vaccines. As the Aurora project became more widely known, our medical sales increased greatly.
We're now at the point that we seek out medical graduates & scientists to assist in the production and enhancement of existing medicines and vaccines, and to develop and produce entirely new ones.

The Aurora Arcology medical facility currently produces these medicines and vaccines:
-General Antibiotics
-General Vaccine injectors
-Zemnar Medicine
-Galeptos Medicine

With additional medical graduates & scientists new medicines can be developed, and existing medicines can be enhanced & produced in a more efficient way!
Capsuleers have assisted us this week as they helped refugees. Arista Shahni has rescued several Medical graduates from deep space and they were happy to join the Arcology and be employed in their field of work.
We thank everyone who gives refugees of all varieties a new start in life at the Aurora Arcology!

Busy stations face capsuleer 'space-slums', causing strikes from Traffic Control!

Ever since Concord granted capsuleers the privilege to build & deploy depots, they have been popping up all over the place.
Busy systems involving trade, mining, jobagents and transport are overrun with numerous depots. This causes a large amount of safety hazards. These safety hazards include, but are not limited to: travelhazards, increased collisiondangers, space-littering, illegal trades, etc.
Gatherings of a dozen or more depots are usually referred to as 'space-slums' or 'tent-cities' due to the fact their icon represents the pictogram of a tent or shack.

This is most apparent in the large tradehubs, like Jita or Amarr, where entire space-slums, composed of dozens, some even say hundreds of depots have been constructed around the stations. Traffic Control is furious as this means even more work for their overworked employees.

At Jita, Traffic Control has held several strikes already, closing down the gates for anyone wishing to enter the system, infuriating the traders and clients!
There have been demands from capsuleers and locals alike for the State to step in, either to bring Jita Traffic Center back in line or take action against the 'space-slums'. As the economy is affected, it's suspected the State will step in, but in which way is unclear, due to the power capsuleers have.

To show the gravity of the situation, there have been reports that the Amarr Traffic Control has announced strikes as well if the uncontrolled deployment of depots continues unabated. Disruption of the heart of the Amarr Empire traffic is practically unheared. The very fact ATC has been pondering the idea of shutting down Amarr for traffic has caused a small upheaval in the Empire as the Homeworld should always be in connection with the Divine Empire.

Concord so far has released no statements yet, but there's rumors abound that they're looking into regulations to confine Depot deployment around high traffic area's. A precedent in this is the Anchored Can-case. They were once seen everywhere, till Concord forbid the anchoring of them at any Surveillance level security (this is security 0.8 and up!). There is a possibility that Depots will fall under the same rule, but as of right now, this is mere speculation.
Aurora News Network will keep you informed should Concord alter any laws concerning Depot deployment!

Over 20.000 immigrants join the Aurora Arcology!

It's indeed correct! This week has seen the greatest influx of new Arcology inhabitants since early YC115!
In a single week we smashed all immigration records ever since we went public. Part of this increase in numbers can be attributed to the large amount of people we rescued from the freighterwreck in Uedama. As some of you may have noted, that newsreport was apparently blank. This was due to a reorganisation within the Aurora News Department.
Due to continued complains about spelling-errors, the old editors got fired and replaced. In an act of disobedience, they sabotaged the last newsreport. This has now been corrected! The new editors also ran a check through all newsreports, eliminating almost all remaining spellingerrors & layoutissues.

The Aurora Arcology Project also received support from Steffanie Saissore, head of The Order of The Ebon Rose. In her quest to help orphans, she also ran into adults seeking a new life, and through us, she can offer it to those people as well!

Now onward to reveal the immigrants who joined the Aurora Arcology this week!

We like to alert all our readers who want to support us to do so, every refugee matters here at the Aurora Arcology! Providing additional information on how they were rescued or from where helps us greatly in improving their integration into society.
Show the people of New Eden that not all capsuleers are solely out for murder and mayhem, but that there's also plenty of capsuleers who help build a better world, in their own way!

The Uedama Tragedy

Marooned in Space

Our transportship, the Jolly Roger was doing its daily duty, picking up refugees who wanted to join the Aurora Arcology. During its journey, it passes through the Uedama system, a dangerous system for transportships of all sizes. As it was about to clear the Sivala Gate, a freighterwreck was spotted on the overview.
Quickly the Jolly Roger changed course, to check for surviving crew. As they inspect the wreck, they make a shocking discovery! Thousands of people are still alive in one of the unbreached bulkheads! Apparently, whoever blew up the freighter had no interest in those poor people and abandoned them in space...
After informing the Aurora Council, the transportship starts the rescue-operation immediatly. Despite reprimands of Concord for 'stealing' from a wreck we don't 'own', the operation is a succes as the last of the marooned people boards our transport. After this, the Jolly Roger made way to the nearest station, so the crew could check on the people, to see if they're all fine. Many of them are in shock as they felt the freighter exploding and heared bulkheads ripping, killing thousands of less fortunate souls than them.
As the rescued civilians recover from their situation, they express their gratitude and agree to join the Aurora Arcology, as they are immigrants from various regions, seeking a better life in the State.

In total, the Jolly Roger rescued 4639 civilians from the marooned wreck.
-4342 Tourists
-40 Refugees
-157 Marines
-60 Janitors
-30 Homeless
-10 freed Slaves

A tragic event

The above mentioned freighter-tragedy ended in a happy end for the survivors. However, such tragedies are not a rarity in Uedama, a system notorious for it's thugs that prey on unarmed ships.
Early in Y115, Caroline Grace, one of our big supporters, was piloting a freighter carrying thousands of refugees to the Aurora Arcology. During this trip she entered the Uedama system. As she exits the jumpgate, a group of cowardly thugs open fire on her defenseless ship. Concord retaliated, but alas it was too late... the freighter explodes... The attack was so brutal and so fast that those aboard never stood a chance of survival... Under impulse of capsuleer Caroline Grace, a rescue-operation was started against the odds, but to no avail. None had survived this terrible tragedy... Thousands of innocent lives lost, in the blink of an eye...
Now, every time one of our transports pass the Uedama system, a moment of silence is held, to remember those who died that day.

Workings of the Aurora Arcology: The News Department

Origin

The Aurora News started as a local news agency to employ some of the refugees. Originally it was founded to inform it's residents of what was going on in the Arcology and to give them more insight in some of the decisions of the CEO.
A few months ago, Aurora News was renamed to Aurora Arcology News. The namechange came to be due to the fact the Arcology now published to the Capsuleer Network. This was done on decision of the CEO Ymladris to inform supportive capsuleers about the workings of the Arcology and to report on the influx of refugees into the facility.

History of the News Department

Under the name Aurora Arcology News, the first public article for capsuleers was published on 31 august Y115, informing them on the workings of the Arcology. The first few newsreports were all in the same vein, giving more information about the workings of the Arcology and the groups of refugees that joined the Aurora Arcology Project.
With the publisment of the newsarticle about the Molden heath Refugees, a new step was taken in the newsagency. This was the first newsreport about events beyond the Arcology, but it was still tightly tied to the Project as it was about the rescue of a refugeegroup. However this newsreport was a small hit among capsuleers and residents alike, so effort was made to provide more of these refugee rescue reports.
For the next two months, the Aurora Arcology News Agency published news about the Arcology project and rescued refugees. Reader attendance had now stabilized at a higher level thanks to the rescuereports, who were enjoyed by it's readers.
One of the highlights in this period was the publishment of the Ayem Colony Project, an expansion of the Aurora Arcology Project. The responses recieved on this showed people & capsuleers alike, even in this age love stories about pushing the frontier and living at the fringes of civilisation.

At the end of october, things changed however. This was due to a report on the Elokur Trial Protests and it's conclusion. This was the first report that focused more on capsuleers and their actions rather then the Arcology itself.
These newsreports where a big hit among the readership. Turns out actions of demigods; for good or evil; always interest people. With this, the Aurora Arcology News shifted it's focus from Arcology centered news only to include newsarticles that involved events with large capsuleer presence in Empire Space.
A month later, another capsuleer event placed the Aurora Arcology News in the center of attention! This was the report about the Call to arms, where the Navy commanders failed to support capsuleers. Capsuleers spread the infolink to friends and corpmates of theirs, who in turn shared it. Quickly the attention gathered for this newsreport outshined all previous reports.
Due to the massive public viewage recieved, a decision was made to change the name of the newsdepartement to reflect it's new course. From now on, the department was called Aurora News Network, to indicate that from now on, capsuleer news would gain preference above local news. This was done to accomodate the greatly increased readership!

Current status, and the future of Aurora News Network

With all the recent events, the News department has called on capsuleers to help them inform of future events, so they can publish newsreports on it. Also, any capsuleer who has a rescue story to go with the transferred refugees is welcome to share, so the notion of 'evil capsuleers' is combatted.
Currently the focus lies on capsuleer events and publishing information about the Arcology project and refugee rescue reports. What the future will bring is unclear. However readers, rest assured that the News department will continue to expand and change itself to accomodate you and to deliver news that matters!

Jita Local Comms cleared from illegal automated advertisements! Capsuleers rejoice!

Old Jita Local: SpamCentral

Anyone who's been to Jita knows it, check the local comm channel and you get floored by advertisements. To top it off, practically all of those are false advertisements, offering non-existent or fraudulent services or  showing lower prices or more valuable items then what they actually offer! It's been so worse most people just closed the channel, or just block it outright.
For a long time, the Caldari State has tried to combat these illegal advertisements ever since they started to hurt profits. The mass spamming of false advertisements caused honest traders to look for other hubs, usually Amarr, Dodoxie, Rens or Hek.
A while back, the State realized they could never win this spamwar, as they barely had any jurisdiction over Capsuleers, who caused this mass volume of spam. So to resolve this situation, the Caldari State turned to the one entity that had authority over Capsuleers, Concord...

The Great Cleansing!

About a week ago it happened, Concord agreed to support the State in culling the illegal and false advertisement spam in the Jita Local comm channel. 3 members of the Communication Control and Protection division of Concord showed up in Jita.
Their arrival didn't go unnoticed, as these CCP personnel flew the latest in Concord technology, the Enigma Polaris frigate! Using these high tech ships, undoubtly equipped in the latest technology to combat unlawful use of commchannels, the CCP crew was able to make quick work of the most obnoxious capsuleerspammers. Using the authority of Concord, they arrested many of these capsuleers on grounds of abusing the right of Free advertising in Jita by using bots(programs that abuse the capsuleer Comm privilege to spam automated messages) or excessive spamming of advertisements, preventing a good working of the Jita local channel.

We provide with a direct commentary of one of the CCP commanders, Stillman:*Botting is not ok, and spamming like mad isn't OK either. Chat is supposed to be for chat. We'll take appropriate action in each case. Don't push it. Spammers and bots are why we can't have nice things.*

Shortly after the CCP ships took care of the excessive spams, the effect was noticeable. Jita comm channel was silent... People had gotten so used to the spam that they initially were unsure what to do now that their Jita Local channel wasn't spewing hundreds of advertisements per minute. Once reality set in, the channel exploded in chatter! Many congratulated CCP's actions in the matter, and began talking amongst themselves on how great a clear channel for communications is.

Temporary effect or lasting?

Initially it was tought to have just a single day effect, but now a week has passed, and while some false advertisers have returned, it's a far cry of the old days. The disbelief of a manageable Jita Local still gets mentioned on the comms, but people are happy with this new take on things. Alot more chatter between folks happens now, exchanging the latest news on various events and things!
The effect on the local population was also noticeable. Ever since Jita local got cleansed of these mass-spammers, freeing up communication bandwidth for regular capsuleers, it has seen an increase in numbers. And more visitors means more customers, so the goal of the State has been achieved with this intervention of Concord!
All in all, everyone's happy about the new and clean(er) Local commchannel in Jita. The esteemed Capsuleer Chribba has also provided statistics on the changes, showing a major reduction in communication bandwith usage ever since the spammers got arrested : Jita Local: Bandwidth usage/hour.
Ever since CCP's succesful operation in Jita Local Comms, requests have been made to do something similar in other tradehubs, especially Amarr as these get plagued with excessive advertisement as well.
One can only hope that in due time, this will happen, allowing proper trade to happen through the local comms once more!

Around 15.000 new arrivals in the Arcology!

While this is the highest amount of arrivals published so far, it should be noted alot of time has passed since the latest registry, causing a buildup of people wanting to join the Arcology, but had to wait for clearance.
Most of the waittime can be attributed to the tumulteous times in the Cluster, between Capsuleers attacking Concord, and incompetent navy commanders leading capsuleers to their doom, it have been eventful times!

However, it's far from over, as there's several projects still being organized. The Ayem Colony plan is still going, albeit there have been unforeseen delays due to hostilities in providence. The Psychiatric ward on the other hand has been estabilished, in cooperation with EOS Corporation, more news will be unveiled in a future report.
Due to the increasing succes of our media department, overhauls are in place to improve on it's workings, so that people in and out the Aurora Arcology can be offered high quality news!

Now back to what this report is about, the new arrivals! Many capsuleers have assisted once more to rescue refugees across the cluster and giving them a new start in their lives at the Aurora Arcology Project! A big thanks to all those who assisted!
This week's arrivals are very diverse, coming from all kind of backgrounds. This makes it alot easier in assigning jobs to them, and restart their lives.

Disclosure of the new arrivals:

-2 VIPs

Note, the Oura Madusaari patients aren't part of the council, but mentioned here, as the psychiatric ward they reside at is under direct supervision of the council, due to the agreement with EOS Corporation.
The large number of Kameiras is due to the joining of Fajah Ateshi, a religious Amarr scientist noble who brought her private militia along for defensive purposes. This has caused alot of friction with the Minmatar population, but for now things are still civil. Fajah Ateshi has joined to assist with the Oura M syndrome, as she is an expert in strange anomalies, and they seem to be tied to this strange mental affliction.

Capsuleers respond en masse to the Call for arms, the Navies fail to assist!

Prelude

About a week ago, Concord, in name of the 4 navies sent out a call to arms, to help the nations defend against an unnamed large threat to the cluster. This caused alot of speculation due to the timing and the scale. The only times the 4 nations banded together was to put a stop to Sansha's Nation advance, so rumors where high of a new large scale attack from them. On the other side, people believed it was related to the mysterious explosion in Syndicate, that it was an advanced weapon tested by a piratefaction and had to be stopped.

It quickly became apparent that the call to arms was a great succes. As the day of the gathering came closer, pilots of various backgrounds travelled to the two meetingpoints. Sarum Prime was the chosen system for the Amarr and their Caldari allies, Meves was the chosen rallypoint for the Gallente and their Minmatar friends.
As times passed, capsuleers numbers increased greatly, showing the great support they were willing to lend to the 4 nations in order to defend it's population from harm. By the time the navy commanders arrived for the briefing, thousands of capsuleers were present to offer their support, an overwhelming number!

The briefing, and troublesome traffic controllers

As everyone gathered, the navy commanders informed they would visit several systems, looking for clues and investigations and to throw off possible enemies. Two fleets were formed, one in Meves under Gallente/Minmatar control, and the other in Sarum prime, under Caldari/Amarr control. Initial destination systems were set, but as the fleets started to move, a large problem became apparent.... Traffic control wasn't informed of the huge additional load of thousands of capsuleers using the jumpgates...
Jumps were cancelled or placed in queue as capsuleers tried to stay with the Navy Commanders, who didn't pay any attention to the problems caused by the overloaded traffic controllers. This caused the fleets to string out, and after a few new systems were called for visits, the fleet got scattered across a large part of the cluster.
By now, it became apparent that the Navies didn't care much for the massed capsuleer support... Yet many choose to go on, if not for the Navies, at least for the people they're supposed to defend from the threat...

And then the final destination was given. For the Amarr/Caldari Fleet, they would go to Curse, the RMOC-W system, to take out a clandestine Angel research station. The second fleet, under Gallente/Minmatar command, would go to Syndicate, to take out an illegal Serpentis research station in the 8V-SJJ system.

The Angels are waiting...

As the target system is called for the Amarr/Caldari fleet, the commanders flew directly to RMOC-W at high speed, without waiting for the capsuleers, avoiding the whole traffic congestion at gates, leaving the supportfleet to fend for themselves. Despite being scattered across the region and left behind by their Navy Commanders, they decide to push on. As they enter Curse, a nasty suprise awaits the first arrivals. The Nullsec powerblocs await them, their fleets to slaughter the barely prepared and scattered capsuleerfleets. As the capsuleers trickle in and getting blown up, some make it through to the next gatecamp to die.

A fleet accompanied by Wedgetail manages to reach the target system by a combination of skill and luck. They noticed the Navy commanders had attacked the Angel installation by themselves, without any form of backup. With this action, they had alerted every Angel combat ship in the region to reinforce the station's defenses. Wedgetail's fleet rushed in to assist, but the Angels were just too strong... All thanks to the foolish attack of those Commanders... As the attack was repelled, reports flooded in that the Angels had evacuated the station, securing their researchdata and scientists and had activated the self-destruct sequence, to prevent anything valuable to fall in Navy hands.
It was clear the Amarr/caldari side of the operation was a failure... Maybe the Minmatar/Gallente fleet fared better?

Friend or Foe? Confusion at the Serpentis Station!

As the Gallente & Minmatar commander confirm the target destination is the Serpentis research station in the syndicate system 8V-SJJ, they immediate set course for the system, avoiding the traffic control shenagians for jumpgates. And here the same story as above, the capsuleers were left behind, fending for themselves to help. Many decided to push on, part in revenge for the destruction of Rilnais by the Serpentis.
As the first fleets enter Syndicate, they face off against the Nullsec powerbloc residing there, albeit not on the scale as the Amarr/Caldari fleet encountered in Curse. Quite some manage to pass the Nullsec defenses and reach the Serpentis researchstation, where the Gallente Commander already attacked the pirate station, alerting the Serpentis defense fleet with his actions.
However, the Minmatar Navy Commander apparently waited for the capsuleer backup as he was parked near the gate. All hope of competence was shattered however when the Minmatar Commander bubbled the capsuleerfleet and fled, to assist his Gallente ally. The capsuleers struggled to get out the bubble, cursing the clueless Minmatar Commander.

Despite all this, many capsuleers still proceeded to engage the Serpentis, even managing to destroy a part of the science-station! A quick scan of the wreckage showed Vindicators and even unknown Serpentis implants among the items that could be retrieved.
But the Serpentis resistance proved too much, pushing back the Capsuleer fleet, taking out many of it's fleetcommanders.
In the end, they had no option but to withdraw and watch as the Serpentis destroyed the drifting assets and activated the stations self-destruct after they secured their research and scientists.... So here the fleet failed as well to accomplish its objective....

Wait? What? Nobody told us!

By now, both fleets had failed to complete their objective, prevent the pirates to secure their research. However, the Navy comms remained silent on this, causing hundreds of capsuleers to die for no reason in gatecamps layed out by the Nullsec powerblocs. Even worse, thousands were still enroute to the targetsystems, struggling with an overworked and disgruntled Gate Traffic Control departement that did not recieve any info for special clearance for these fleets.
Slowly but surely, conflicting reports about the piratestations being destroyed started to spread among the fleets. As the reports spread, more and more people managed to warn their fellow pilots to halt the advance to the targetsystems. Still, alot of confusion caused death, as official validation from the Navies was not given, instead capsuleers had to rely on people they didn't know.

Once it was clear the navies weren't responding, and the pirates were gloating, many fleets aborted their travels, checking for fleetmembers who went ahead and attempt to warn them on time. In many cases, the warning came too late... Several hundreds still poured into the targetsystems, only to be greeted by a hostile fleet and a failed objective...

The aftermath... Conclusions.

Well.... what can we say? It was a total disaster. Hundreds of ships lost for no reason, the pirates being able to continue their dangerous research at an unknown location and failure of clear communications from the Navy Commanders resulted in the majority of the fleets getting scattered across the regions and a substantial part getting blown up in gatecamps, without support.

But what caused this failure on such scale? Several different issues have lead to this... Lets sum them up and explain:

- Long travelroutes from the stagingsystem, with detours to far-away systems before the real targetsystem got called, at no point, the navy commanders slowed down to let people catch up.
>> This caused the large caspuleerfleet to get dispersed across the cluster, in an attempt to keep up, making them easy pickings in hostile space.

-Gate Traffic Control was not informed by Concord or the navies to give special clearance for the large amount of capsuleers.
>> This caused major delays in gatejumps, making catching up practically impossible, and got majority of the fleet stuck in systems long enough for the operation to be over before they could even assist.

- No assets deployed by the navies except the commanders.
>> For a call to arms to defend the cluster from a great threat; it's notable that the navies had deployed no assets to assist the capsuleers in their daunting task. They even went so far as to let the commanders attack the stations before the capsuleers even arrived, giving the pirates ample time to organize a defense against the approaching capsuleerfleet.
On the contrary, the Pirates had contributed serious assets in the defense of their stations, entire fleets of Machariels for the Angels, and Vindicators for the Serpentis proved to be a formidable opponent for those who managed to arrive at their destination.

-Sending capsuleers straight through a Nullsec Warzone riddled with chokepoints.
>> Since some time, Curse has seen serious fighting between the powerblocs in Null. This meant they were ready to defend their turf from any form of aggression with fleets on standby. Without any form of assistance, subcapital fleets entering Curse were doomed to die at the hands of these experienced combatfleets. The amount of chokepoints, preventing using alternative routes added to this.

-Almost non-existent communications from the Navies.
>> The lack of communications caused the fleets to get spread out in the region as the new patrolsystems were not always announced clearly. It also caused needless death at gatecamps as helpful capsuleers tried to reach the piratestations.
Also the lack of confirmation that the operation had failed and was aborted contributed to a few hundred extra shiplosses and their crews.

In short, this operation has baffled many capsuleers in how amateurish it was handled by the Navy Commanders and Concord. A closer stagingsystem, some more comms or support from the navies or Concord would have gone a long way in preventing the pirates evacuating their stations succesfully and would also avoided so many needless death..

Capsuleers fail to organize a gank on Concord

A call for Anarchy

A few weeks ago, an underground movement amongst capsuleers called for an attack on Concord forces, to show the might of capsuleers and to show the cluster that Concord ships can be taken down. Outings like this surface once in a while, but rarely get followed upon due to the technologic superiority of the Concord ships.
This time, the call was louder... and some capsuleers began organizing an event at Yulai for this very purpose, and were heared by many others. This time, it seemed the call to destroy a Concord ship, or perhaps even a fleet as some dreamed, would happen.

To defy concord on this scale isn't unheard of, but so far it has only been succesful in two cases.  We now provide footage to both these events:

- Capsuleer Pirate Corporation defying Concord: Recovered old footage
-Thukker Tribe assaults Concord: Yulai Standoff footage & Fragmented Empyrean Newsreport

A recipe for Chaos

As the gathering occurred in Yulai, capsuleers of all colors and beliefs converged at the Yulai Battle site, intending to challenge Concord on the very ground where they were once defeated by the Thukker Tribe. As more and more capsuleers joined the gathering, insistence was made to organize all through the public local comms... And so the inevitable chaos grew, by people disrupting local comms and others just showing up to witness the mayhem and profit from it by bringing their salvage-ships and transports.
The local count kept on rising, dozens became a hundred, a hundred turned into hundreds. Imagine, between 200 to 300 triggerhappy capsuleers, all gathered at one place, with the intend to disrupt the law and let chaos reign. What follows should suprise no-one who is aware of an eggers nature.

A shot was fired, Concord warps in with a fleet to investigate. Total strangers used local to call a variety of concord ships as primary, more shots were fired. Concord responded in kind and retaliated against the aggressors. Chaos erupts, yet amidst the chaos a group managed to gather enough eggers to focus fire on the Concord Commander, but alas... it was too little... too late... despite the Concord Commander Battleship being under heavy attack from a dozen capsuleers, the Commander kept control over the gathered Concord fleet and called target after target. As soon as one offending ship blew up, the next was targeted and subsequently exploded a few seconds after.
Amidst this, the chaos was complete. As Concord was taking out the last few organized attackers, capsuleers began fighting amongst themselves. Destroyers shattered by battlecruisers, assault frigates taking down cruisers and then you have those maniacal pilots charging in to blow up all around them with smartbombs... Capsuleer madness burned bright that day... Tens of thousands of lives lost because eggers wanted to bash heads, just because they could.

The Hubris of Capsuleers

And so their hubris became their downfall. What started as a gathering to show Concord who ran the show ended in a humiliating defeat, not only at the hands of Concord, but by their own as well.
As show by this Yulai Combat Report  (date 19/10 is relevant to the event) the capsuleerlosses were staggering, and all for nothing for no Concord ship was destroyed. Reports even indicate that at no time a Concord ship's shields were breached. In short, the event was a total failure for capsuleers, but a great PR boost to the Concord law enforcement. This shows Concord is capable of handling focused aggression against their ships and fleets.

The aftermath, some comments by those present

Meizu Kho provided a Holoreport about the attack on Concord: Capsuleers versus Concord

Caroline Grace: *I was there with my Talos, collecting corpses. No matter how creepy it sounds, it pretty much sums up the whole event*

Nevyn Ascent: *Eggers crushed as they assault Concord, really what did you expect?*

Commander A9: *It was total Chaos!*

Esan Vartesa: *A little spin is all the media needs to make it into a bigger failure than it already was!*

Concord Fleet Commander: *Now do you see the error of your ways, Capsuleers?  You cannot hope to match the might of CONCORD!*

Hary Hernandez : *What Happened: People Showed up. What was supposed to Happen:  Fuck the Police.  What really happened: We fucked ourselves.  Outcome:  Shit was a blast*

Final conclusion: Concord might remains unchallenged. It will take quite some time before another gathering of this magnitude will happen to defy Concord as it was a landslide victory for the Law. Aurora Arcology and associated did a search and rescue to gather as much crew as possible before they suffocated in space, or worse.

Charity organisations working with civilians and assorted in the Eden Cluster

It's time to highlight some positive notes about capsuleers in the cluster. The Arcology project is far from the only capsuleer-run charity organisation that offers people a new chance in life. But several capsuleers have initiated their own charities, who in turn  have their own focus and preferences. We'll sum up a few here and provide links to check out their activities.

The Aurora Arcology Project

Well, this is us of course. The project is run by Jandice Ymladris, any questions concerning the Arcology project can be asked through the mail. Our main focus is to assist refugees and other civilians from conflictzones to give a new start in their lives, and if required, help them to re-integrate into society should it be required.
This is mainly done by assigning them jobs at the Arcology Project itself, helping it to be a self-sustaining project.
A disclosure of the Arcology population: Citizen Registration Datafile
Special note: slaves are not permitted into the Arcology due to it answering to Caldari law, and slavery is outlawed in the State.

The Order of the Ebon Rose

The Order is run by Steffanie Saissore. After the Colelie incident, where a Minmatar and Gallente capital fleet engaged each other, an orphanage initiative was started. This was to help all those who were orphaned after this incident, and for families that suddenly only had a single parent for income and struggled to survive.
Due to overwhelming financial support from other capsuleers, the Order can look forward to a great and bright future for the people and children they look after.
More information can be found here: Establishment of Orphanage and Support network

The Disciples of Ston

This is an older and more widely known charity organisation. The Disciples of Ston are named after Momaki Ston who runs the charity and his followers who assist in this. Their main focus is the rescuing of slaves and setting them free through their Matriculation program. They do rescue anyone they find in the so called Death-Cans, cans jettisoned by cruel capsuleers that contain people and air for 90 minutes.
Their focus on releasing slaves to freedom does make them controversial to certain groups, mainly the Amarr as it isn't approved by all official nation laws.
The tracking record of the Disciples of Ston can be easily described as impressive: Former Slaves enter Matriculation Program.
There is also a separate informationboard that addresses how they came to be: The Disciples of Ston

The 'Oura Madusaari' Syndrome

After findings that the Disciples of Ston came to a similar conclusion about the increase in number of people believing to be Oura Madusaari, we felt it was needed to publish our reports on this strange psychological sickness in order to create awareness about this odd phenomenon.

Some background on this strange syndrome

Lately, charity organisations helping out civilians have run into a rare and strange psychological affliction, dubbed the 'Oura Madusaari' Syndrome. At first it wasn't even recognized as something odd as these people don't act abnormal individually considering their traumatic experiences. But once more and more people identifying themselves as Oura Madusaari appeared, it became apparent there was more going on than just a false name. Point in case is the fact we managed to trace back most affected individuals as being rescued from a wormhole-like anomaly. It is suspected the anomaly caused some form of mental trauma.

All the people who refer to themselves as Oura Madusaari have eerily similar behaviour. They also truly believe they are this person. Any attempts to disprove it to them resulted in hostile behaviour. They also strongly react against being 'helped' believing they do not suffer any form of delusion.

Treatments attempted and the resulting findings

Once we discovered this strange Oura Madusaari delusion amongst some of our refugees, we undertook actions to help them. Initially we were met with much hostility and even outright violence against out psychiatrists and scientists. Quickly we discovered this was something new. It was no damsel in distress illusion nor an odd form of schizophrenia.
The second wave of attempts went much better initially as we tried a more subtle approach. But as all attempts to foil their illusion that they are Oura Madusaari failed, our next step was an attempted group therapy. It was thought that by letting them face each other, they would realize something's amiss and being more open to the suggestion they suffered a psychological trauma causing them to take on a different identity.
But it failed... it turned into a terrible disaster of horrible violence towards each other. Marines had to be called in to contain the Oura Madusaari patients.
The shocking realisation of this outcome was that the grouptherapy actually reinforced their identity as Oura M, believing all the others were imposters and only them as the 'real Oura M'.
By now it became clear this wasn't a normal mental affliction, but something stranger. All known methods and treatments for mental delusions and identity swaps had failed. It looked like a deeper and more troublesome mental sickness... So deeper and more intense research was needed to find out what was actually going on...

Research into the Oura Madusaari Syndrome origins

After the failure of the initial treatments, psychological and neurological scientists were called on to investigate the matter. First steps was to find all similarities between them, and to determine possible causes and ways to assist them.
Initial findings discovered the original Oura Madusaari vanished during an expedition aboard the 'Paryi'. As we delved more into this, we found strange rescue-reports, indicating she has been rescued multiple times. Most of these rescue-reports detail that she was sitting in an escape pod along other crewmembers near a strange wormhole-like anomaly.
The next step was tracking down these crewmembers, lucky many of those are refugees who joined alongside the Oura M patients in the Arcology and were willing to help us out. From their stories and anecdotes about their former crewmember we learned alot. With their help we were also able to contact several capsuleers and convince some of them to share the datafiles they had on the anomalies.

Conclusions

After reviewing the reports, and verifying our science-team results several conclusions could be drawn and possible theories were noted down.

-It's a new psychological phenomenon. While it bears similarity to known psychological issues, none of the known treatments or therapies work with the Oura Syndrome.
-Only women caught in this specific anomaly have a risk of being affected with it. The individual affected will always identify herself as Oura Madusaari, no other name or personality.
-The original person of the individual is erased in favor of the Oura Madusaari personality. This is seen in the fact that they truly believe they are this person, having no knowledge who they were prior.
-A person affected by the Oura Syndrome will aggressivly resist assistance to help her. If placed in presence of another person with the same syndrome, great violence will occur. Advised to keep patients separate in all cases.
-Initial indications are that the proces that causes the person to identify herself as Oura Madusaari is irreversible, however research on this is still ongoing.

Conclusion is that we are dealing with something new, somehow the original Oura Madusaari managed to have her mind imprinted in a strange anomaly that can appear anywhere in the Eden cluster. Unprepared ships that explore this anomaly get violently ripped apart, leaving their crew in escape pods. Among the crew the Oura Madusaari imprint seems to seek a viable female crewmember to infiltrate and eventually erase her mind, replacing the original identity with Oura Madusaari. It is unknown if this happens purposefully or just as an extention on how the anomaly works.
There has been theorycrafting that it is somehow linked to Sleeper technology as there's some eerie similarities with the 514 tagged mercs who went insane. It must be noted however that this is just a theory, but it merits further research.

New Arrivals: Over 14.000 Refugees joined!

The amount of refugees has climbed to a new height! This can be attributed to a few things, amongst it is the increasing visibility of the Aurora Arcology Project among the cluster. As we expand our venture and co-operate with more organisations, more people hear of us and subsequently give refugees they rescue a second chance at life within the Arcology project. A major boost in publicity was our CEO reporting on the protests at Elokur's trial and its subsequent conclusion.

Capsuleer Turelus of 4TH District assisted the colonial departement Gattaca by supplying a group of experienced personnel. This group will support the Gattaca departement in refining their training methods and improve selection of colonists for Ayem.

To add on the good news, we're currently in negotiations with Eos Corporation to expand the Arcology itself with an additional departement. This departement would assist re-integration into society for those who have trouble doing so. By this, more difficult refugees can be helped. Details will be released when all is settled.

Now towards the disclosure of this week's newest arrivals:

Regular civilians:

-42 Civilians
-560 Homeless

Councilmembers

-Quantum Entanglement Rockband (Datafile: Rockconcert)

Note, the rockband isn't part of the council, they're filed there to indicate they're working directly with the council to assure their concert will be a stunning succes.

Relations between Minmatar and Gallente groups within the Arcology deteriorated more with the recent press release within the Federation : Gallente Senator calls Republic untrustworthy! The sabre-rattling between the Minmatar Republic and the Gallente Federation has given our security departement troubles, as with each announcement the malcontent between these two groups grow. This has caused a few isolated incidents of vandalism so far, but the fear is that it might escalate one day. To prevent this from happening, security has stationed a large group of Marines in the gallente district to assure their safety. This is due to the fact the Gallente are the smallest minority and most vandalism concerning the ongoing events has been in their district.

Rock out! The famous Heavy Metal Rockband Quantum Entanglement will perform at the Arcology!

Due to the great diversity of the Aurora population, a large variety of small scale events are organized for entertainment, from marketfairs to artshows. However, once in a while, the Council manages to attract a more famous artist or event. In such cases, even attendants from beyond will come to enjoy it.

Now the council managed to outdo themselves and were able to make the famous heavy metal rockband Quantum Entanglement make a stop at the Aurora Arcology. Despite the high admission prices to cover the cost of this event, it already shapes up to be a smash succes!

The show at the Arcology will be given at 2 November at 20h Eve-time. Any non-Arcology attendants will be required to pass a security check so they're required to reserve their tickets well in advance.
If any capsuleer wishes to visit the show, please let the Arcology Authorities know, so special precautions can be taken, to assure their safety out of pod.

The Quantum Entanglement band will sing and rock out their hitsongs, but will also cover some smash eve hits like: I'm in a Rokh, from the Galaxy Punks and Jita Burns! from Alienhand! The show will display grand background screens to accompany the music with appropriate footage. So ladies and gentlemen, you'll be in for quite the ride at the Quantum Entanglement Heavy metal Rock Show! Come and join the crowd and rock out!

Elokur Trial: The conclusion!

It turns out Elokur's trial is a short one! Congratulations to the Gallente Justice system for this quick verdict.
Elokur stood trial for his act of self-defense against 3 attackers; the accusation was that killing the 3 was a show of excessive force. After presenting evidence of both parties, the Jury ruled in favor of Elokur's freedom, stating he had to use lethal force to defend himself from these men.

Follow this lead for the source: Synchelle Trial conclusion: Elokur declared 'not guilty' !

Minmatar/Gallente protests in Synchelle for Elokur's Trial!

What is it all about?

A few months ago, a young Brutor student, by the name of Kinhar Elokur has killed 3 people who harassed him. Very little information is available about the exact circumstances. He has to go on trial on 15 october, over two months after he was imprisoned. Due to the controverse around his and that the Gallente denied bail, protests have arisen.
More valid information can be found here: Minmatar react to Senate report; call for Elokur's freedom.

Two rallies have been called on the day of his trial. One is organized by those who believe he acted in self-defense and henceforth he should be released. This protest is backed mainly by the Minmatar citizens.
The second rally was called after the first and calls for justice to be called upon Elokur, as he might have used excessive force in disposing of his attackers. As expected, the call for justice is mainly supported by the Gallente citizens.

The reason I was present was to observe this protestrally between Minmatar and Gallente capsuleers and being a neutral third party if required.

The beginning of the rally.

Shortly before 20H the first capsuleer attendants arrived. This didn't go unnoticed because as in usual capsuleer spirit, a squadron of 8 tornado's arrived, hellbent on causing mayhem and destruction amongst those who carried valuables! However due to a lucky turn of events, a capsuleer released his killright on one of them, leading to the demise of one of the Tornado's. The rest lingered on, but then decided it was too tricky to hang around, in case others might arrive with killrights on their remaining squadronmembers and thereby fled back into the depth of space.

The rest of the preparations went fairly quiet, some words shouted over comms, but nothing much. Once Commander A9 and Valerian Eldiart arrived things got into shape. Commander A9 is a well known advocate of of freedom and thereby called the Freedom supporters to join his fleet to form a more organized protest against Synchelle's trial against Elokur, demanding the man to be freed.  The Freedom fleet rapidly grew in size, their calls to free Elokur sounding louder with every new member joining.
On response of this, the mysterious capsuleer Valerian Eldiart called for Justice and let the trial determine a proper punishment for Elokur's crime. As support grew for the justice side,  capsuleer Paskis Robinson offered assistance to manage the Justice fleet. And so the protest began.

Protests! Freedom! Justice! Escalation?

As the protests continued, each side shouted their demands. The Freedom Force  demanded to Free Elokur, as he only defended himself against vicious attackers. At the same time, the Justice Fleet shouted for justice brought to this villaneous man, who killed 3 men in a show of excessive force! Meanwile Station authorites requested the fleets to stay within their rally-spheres and keep the station undock clear for incoming and outgoing traffic.

As hours passed without any official response, the demands, shouting and arguments grew more heated by the minute. Small containers broadcasting provoking messages were dropped by both sides. The more levelheaded capsuleers on both sides attempted to call for peace, to calm down before things would escalate further. Yet more and more calls for blood were screamed, and each side was blaming the other for threatening to shoot...
And what had to happen, occured... two capsuleers had enough of the arguments and decided to settle it with gunfire... In a duel they let their guns speak, and their combatprowess decide who was right and wrong...

The Ending....

Seeing the increasingly hostile speeches and the subsequent bloodshed by the two duelling capsuleers, several people began voicing their concerns about what was supposed to be a peaceful protest... Then one of the capsuleer ships went ablaze, many of its crew lost and with that, the protest lost its momentum as people realized what their call for violence and bloodshed had resulted into...
As escape-pods from the wrecked vehicle soared away, the protest became less loud and voiced, arguments were still shouted, but with less passion, less heat. And then the two leaders of the protests, Commander A9 of the Freedom Force and Valerian Eldiart of the Justice Fleet called to end the protest, to prevent further escalation.
Right on time it seemed, because more gunfire was exchanged during the dispersion of both fleets. The gunfire silenced as ships fled the field or docked with the station and then fell silent, save for a few scattered broadcasts about Freedom and Justice.

Epilogue

Both sides had voiced their opinions and concerns to the Synchelle Justice department organizing the Elokur Trial. The protesters also experienced first hand what calls for aggression can result into. Hopefully, lessons have been learned for the future.
The protest itself was a great succes on both sides, seeing a good capsuleer presence with a large variety of ships.
There was no official response from the Synchelle Justice Department, but from trustworthy sources it's known they did listen and observed the protest, reserving their response for another day, realizing the delicate situation between the Minmatar and Gallente.
